I don\u2019t know about you, but I love watching the rippling surface of water.
\nThose moments when I dangle my feet from a pier, immerse them in the coolness, and watch how many different ways the water\u2019s surface can wrinkle – these are some of the most beautiful moments in life.<\/p>\n
Or when I\u2019m lying on the warm deck of a sailboat, everything gently rocking, the sun burning my bare back, and I watch the waves constantly reshaped by the wind.<\/p>\n
Or simply a sunset by the lake: I\u2019m wading knee-deep in a lake, sipping wine from a metal mug, amazed at how beautiful and peaceful everything feels. And I know it\u2019s about to become even better – because soon we\u2019ll sit together by the fire, eat, sing, and talk, until the sun lights up the lake\u2019s surface once more.<\/p>\n
This relief is my story of all those moments spent by the water – where I am usually the happiest.<\/p>\n
I designed it to be as realistic as possible, so that light dances across its surface (almost exactly) the way it does on the water in your favorite cove.<\/p>\n
Each piece is cast by hand from porcelain, using a mold I created myself. Then I let it dry, carefully retouch it, and glaze it so it shines like the surface of the Baltic Sea on a sunny day. One final firing at 1250\u00b0C – and it\u2019s ready to find its place on your wall.<\/p>\n
